Authorization Associate

Job Description
The Opportunity:
The Authorization Management function drives to develop a service to take work off the hands of providers, with focus in the realm of pre-certifications & referrals. The Authorization Management Associate will be responsible for managing a broad array of projects related to the Authorization Management team, including the Payersite projects, White Glove Service Monitoring Efforts, Defect Reduction Initiatives, phone call reduction initiatives, etc. This position will work with multiple colleagues in daily communications,and will assist with piloting and training of current/future agents. Other projects may include the development and support of improved technologies, streamlined workflows, and reporting metrics. The Authorization Management Associate will report directly to the Manager, Authorization Management.
Position Summary:
The Authorization Management Associate will be responsible for managing a broad array of projects related to the Authorization Management team, including the Payersite projects, White Glove Service Monitoring Efforts, Defect Reduction Initiatives, phone call reduction initiatives, etc. . This position will work with multiple colleagues in daily communications. This Associate will report directly to the Manager, Authorization Management.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
40% Project Management, Oversight and Support
Serve as central liaison in order to lead, delegate and coordinate a team of peers in the process of gathering and presenting findings for projects across the department this involves:
Develop and execute project plans related to department goals
Coordinate meetings, discovery sessions/working groups, testing, product, industry, and process research
Coordinate, assign out tasks, track progress, present and communicate out to peers and leadership on Payersite projects, White Glove Service Monitoring Efforts, Defect Reduction Initiatives, phone call reduction initiatives, etc.
20% Training
Assist with piloting and training of current/future agents
Identify, recommend and enact opportunities for learning and teaching within the department
Provide 1:1 and classroom based training as needed and recommend athenaU based trainings
Create and continually update process and training documents for authorization management workflows and projects.
40% Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions to complex Authorization Management issues
Develop and support of improved technologies, streamlined workflows, and reporting metrics
Research, identify and isolate issues through data extraction, manipulation, and analysis
Design and implement new analytic methodologies and problem solving workflows
Review task notes and audit histories, conduct supplemental research and analysis, and process large amounts of information in order to identify trending, opportunities for process, workflow, and product improvement along with client and BPO vendor education/training materials needed
Education, Experience, & Skills Required:
3-5 years professional experience or 1+ years at athena
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Healthcare IT preferred
Project Management Experience
Knowledge athenaNet and other athena used products preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
